Construction Technician for Housing Research Lab

Home Innovation Research Labs is seeking a well-organized self-starting technician to work in a materials and structures lab for product certification testing and research related to residential and commercial buildings.


  • Residential or commercial construction experience.
  • High School Grad required, AA degree preferred.
  • Laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to sit, bend or stand for extended periods.

Additional preferred set of skills:

  • Fork Lift operation.
  • Welding


  • Product and materials testing.
  • Construction of a variety of assemblies for testing. Working knowledge of wood and steel framing for walls and floors; finish carpentry, drywall and plumbing are desirable.
  • Instrumentation, data recording and assisting research engineers on special projects.
  • Calibrating and maintaining equipment.
  • Materials receiving and shipping.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on lab assets.
