Therefore we have the unique ability to test complete assemblies as large as 9’x16’ in our rotatable calibrated hot box. Our hot box allows the evaluation of various combinations of vertical walls, flat roofs, and cathedral ceilings, with all types of siding, sheathing, framing, insulation, and interior finish.
Another critical factor affecting a home's energy efficiency and thermal performance is air infiltration. We can run ASTM E283 testing to measure air leakage through components such as doors or windows or through assemblies such as wall systems.
Besides R-value, insulation materials are often tested for properties of moisture absorption, vapor transmission, and odor. We can conduct all of these tests to give you a complete assessment of your insulation product.
