Come to one session, two sessions, or stay the entire day as Laclede Gas presents this green symposium focused on the National Green Building Standard.

  • 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.: “Straight-Talk” Green Building Breakfast — This panel is packed with the local “who’s who” of residential green building as it relates to the National Green Building Standard (NGBS). They’ll discuss what works and what doesn’t, from both a profitability and production standpoint. They’ll discuss the inspection process as well as how they embrace the voluntary nature of the program as a sales tool. In addition, Home Innovation's Bob Hill and Michelle Desiderio will discuss the opportunities and challenges builders are facing all over the country when they start to certify homes to the NGBS.
    Panelists: Kim Hibbs (Hibbs Homes), Matt Belcher (Verdatek Solutions), Bill Fischer (C.F. Vatterott), Jeff Bogard (R.E.A. Homes), Richard Reilly (EarthWays Center), and Sid Koltun (Laclede Gas Company) along with Bob Hill & Michelle Desiderio (Home Innovation Research Labs)
  • 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Technical Aspects of the NGBS Green Certification Program — Panelists will dig deep into the mandates builders/suppliers must comply with in the 2012 version of the NGBS. Panelists will discuss performance thresholds, best practices, and whether to get the minimum points in the energy section from the prescriptive path or the performance path. They’ll also discuss the latest in green product innovations that earn certification points.

  • 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.: FREE Catered Lunch for AM and PM Participants
  • 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Effective Marketing Techniques to Entice and Motivate Green Consumers — This session will highlight consumer hot buttons as well as certified home performance statistics, proven energy savings calculations that can be used to influence mortgage calculations, public relations tips & more.
