This panel discussion, hosted by the HBRA of New Hampshire, will feature representatives from the local utility companies and the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission to discuss the incentives that are available to home and business owners for energy-efficient and green construction. Also, Phil LaRocque, an NGBS Green Verifier accredited by Home Innovation Research Labs, will discuss the benefits of certifying new and remodeled homes to National Green Building Standard (NGBS).

Topics will include:

  • What are current programs and how do they differ by location?
  • Where can I go for help as a builder or homeowner?
  • What about renewables?
  • How does the process for rebates work?
  • Where does the money come from and how does it get allocated?
  • Why do the programs change?
  • Discussion on www.dsireusa.gov
  • What federal programs are available/relevant?
  • What is the difference between rebates and tax incentives?
  • What can happen to prevent me from getting a rebate that I was anticipating at the start of a project?
  • Does the rebate/incentive go to the builder or Home owner? Why?
  • How does the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) fit into the rebate and incentive programs?
