Home Innovation Hosts Second Meeting of Residential Resiliency Guide Advisory Group

Today, the 31 members of the Advisory Group for HUD’s Residential Resilience Guidelines for Builders & Developers will convene for their second meeting. The meeting will be led by chair, Randy Noel, MIRM, CGB, CMP, of REVE, Inc., a leading single-family builder from LaPlace, La., and staffed by Home Innovation’s Kevin Kauffman, and John Peavey, P.E., Director of Building Science.

The group is ultimately tasked with guiding Home Innovation’s development of a set of practical, actionable guidelines for builders and developers to design and construct residential buildings, neighborhoods, and accessory structures to improve residential resilience and integrate that resiliency with the entire community.

As a follow up to their initial in-person meeting in late February, today’s virtual meeting will aim to finalize relevant Task Groups, discuss supplemental information and metrics, and establish major project milestones and the schedule of future meetings.

The Advisory Group includes architects, engineers, planners, developers, emergency managers, building code officials, builders, and representatives from federal, state, and local government agencies; each selected to ensure a balance of insights from Users, Producers, and Public Interest.
