Georgia-Pacific’sThermostat plywood sheathing reflects up to 97% of the sun's radiant heat. It can lower attic temperatures and improve energy efficiency. A homeowner can increase indoor comfort while potentially reducing cooling energy costs.

    Practice # Practice Points Available Additional Conditions of Use to Earn Points
    606.1 Biobased products are used. 8 points maximum awarded. 6 To earn 6 points, this product must be at least 1% of the construction material cost AND another bio-based product, also at 1% of material cost, must be used. Lesser points are available at the 0.5% level.

    Thermostat substrate (OSB) is a bio-based material.

    606.2(2) A minimum of 2 wood or wood-based products used for major elements are certified to the requirements of a recognized product program. 4 To earn 4 points, a second certified wood product must also be used as a major element for 4 points. Lesser points available for use with a minor element.

    Thermostat substrate panels are made from wood certified to the SFI procurement standard.

    901.4(1) Structural use plywood per PS 1 or PS 2. OSB per PS 2. All marked Exposure 1 or Exterior. Mandatory for certification. Mandatory A minimum of 85% of OSB in the building is meets PS1 or PS2.

    Georgia-Pacific wood products contain no added urea formaldehyde resins.
