Until recently, residential buildings have lagged the green certification market because in residential architecture, the margins are small, and the returns are not always sufficient to support certain green practices. The National Green Building Standard (NGBS) is the first green building standard approved by ANSI and offers a flexible, credible, and affordable rating system for builders and developers. The NGBS establishes practices for the design and construction of green residential buildings, renovations, and land developments. Log in to this webinar, hosted by the Pennsylvania Housing Research Center, to learn about NGBS requirements, understand how the certification process works, and hear how to successfully market a green home. Cindy Wasser, manager of green building programs for Home Innovation Research Labs, will provide all the information you need to get your next project NGBS Green Certified and set your business apart from the competition.
Following the webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Explain the development of 2012 version of ICC-700 National Green Building Standard (NGBS), its scope, and the opportunities for project certification.
- Detail the process, roles, and responsibilities of certification participants.
- Explain Home Innovation Research Labs’ green certification process under the NGBS.
- Identify program eligibility requirements for certification under the NGBS.
