Join in on Wednesday, July 31 at 2pm ET for a webinar titled, "SolSmart Webinar: Solar & EV Best Practices."

This webinar addresses opportunities for local governments to promote the co-development and integration of solar PV generation and electric vehicles (EVs). Simultaneous adoption of PV and EVs in a community can present substantial benefits, particularly when policies and initiatives for PV and EVs are thoughtfully aligned.

Learn about the role of local government to promote this nexus through tools such as coordinated education and outreach, incentives, regulations and requirements such as in development review and building codes, and public investment in lead-by-example projects.

The webinar will also feature a market transformation case study managed by the Great Plains Institute on integrating EV charging infrastructure with distributed solar, including local government tools for action, value proposition modeling by the National Renewable Energy Lab, and implications for achieving local climate and energy goals.

This introductory seminar will primarily oriented around the needs of local governments as they consider policy and program options. SolSmart will offer follow-up PV-EV webinars with deeper dives into best practices for municipal utilities, transit agencies, electrification of mobility as a service and mobility on demand, and other areas that participants may request.

This webinar provides a foundation for local governments interested in pursuing SolSmart criteria:

MDF-10a: Conduct feasibility analysis for solar PV integrated with other technologies such as combined heat and power systems or electric vehicle charging on/at a local government facility.

MDF-10b: Install solar PV integrated with other technologies such as combined heat and power or electric vehicle charging on/at a local government facility.

Panelists include:

  • Philip Kreycik | Senior Associate at the Cadmus Group
  • Brian Ross | Senior Program Director at the Great Plains Institute
