Home Innovation President & CEO Michael Luzier Addresses COVID-19 Response

To Our Valued Clients, Business Partners, Colleagues, and Friends:

As we all work to combat the spread of COVID-19, we wanted you to know the status of operations at Home Innovation Research Labs. In short, we are (nearly) fully operational!

On March 23rd, 2020, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan issued an order requiring all “non-essential” businesses to close their offices. Consistent with both the letter and spirit of the order, all Home Innovation staffers are now working from home with one exception – we have two lab technicians who are completing testing for key building products that are required by code to have formal, third-party testing and certification. With construction classified as an essential business, we believe it is critical that builders continue to have access to and receive certified building products as long as we can do so with full protection for our laboratory staff. The two technicians are sharing a 30,000-sf lab space and we have implemented work procedures that keep them yards apart at all times. We have confirmed that both employees feel fully protected, and they both understand they can change their minds about coming into the lab if their comfort level changes.

For clients who have ongoing work with us, be assured it is all moving forward. Your staff contact is fully operational at home and reachable by email and phone.

If you need information and don’t know who you should talk to, please complete a contact form on our website and we will respond right away. In addition, our corporate voicemail is being checked daily so if you leave a message, someone will return the call.

We are monitoring the current public health crisis closely and will adjust our procedures, as necessary, as events unfold. Going forward, we remain committed to continuing to service your research, testing and certification needs, while fully protecting our team, our families, and our communities.

Thank you for your trust in our capabilities.
